The farm

Its animals, its cultures and ... its inhabitants!
La Ferme de la Motte is a family place that has evolved over the generations.
Today, several people live and / or work there.
Anne is at the reception of the hosts. She prepares and serves the table d'hôtes. She also takes care of her donkeys: Nougatine and Savory, and the orchard.
Since some time, Rachel made of organic bread baked in a wood oven. She transforms wheat into flour to make natural sourdough bread. She sells it in her bakery. His bread is served at breakfast.
Daniel takes care of the cows, he produces organic milk. He sows, cultivates farmland to harvest fodder for cows and bread wheat. All the milk is then sold to a dairy (except the fresh milk used in cooking).
Sven helps us on weekends, it is multitasking: website, computer maintenance, gardening, it's also Mr. DIY.
And of course, there are Agnes and Marcel (Marcel has always lived in La Motte), they are now retired farmers and devote themselves to different activities: vegetable garden, pleasure garden, small breeding of laying hens, manufacture of jams for breakfasts, bundles for the bread oven ...
We are all attached to this little piece of hedgerow and heritage and like to share it with hosts, friends and family passing through.

The spirit of the place

In this farm, and in particular in the house, many people were welcomed, even before the opening of the guest rooms by Agnès and Marcel in 1994. Already Marcel's parents were opening their doors to many people (friends, family, friends of their children, people passing through…).
And long before, this house may have welcomed pilgrims from Mt St Michel. The scallop shell on the fireplace in the reception room, testifies to this. The vocation of this house dates back perhaps to the 17th century, even 16th century.
Even today, we like to receive guests from all regions of France, from all European countries and the world…. What could be more wonderful than meeting "strangers" to discover their culture, to make them share ours. And what a joy to bring together people who might not have crossed paths otherwise. Creating links, and sharing this place that we love, has really been our driving force for 20 years of accommodation in guesthouses.
